About

Sierra Leonean-born and globally raised, Sia Foryoh is a Canadian journalist, storyteller, and professional host with extensive on-camera experience. Her ability to connect with audiences stems from her dynamic worldview, deep empathy, and an unrelenting passion for telling stories that matter.

Sia’s journey is one of resilience and purpose. Born in Sierra Leone during the height of civil unrest, her family was displaced by war and found refuge in Senegal with the help of a kind stranger. Eventually, they resettled in Canada as refugees, building a new life from the ground up.

Rooted in this lived experience, Sia pursued opportunities that shaped her voice as a storyteller. Awarded scholarships, she studied acting and theatre in Vancouver and Los Angeles, thriving as an actress over 13 years in the film industry. This path not only refined her creative abilities but also ignited her desire to shift toward journalism—a field where she could amplify the stories of others.

Supported by a prestigious scholarship from Global News, Sia transitioned into journalism, inspired by icons like Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King. She sees storytelling as a way to empower voices, shed light on underreported narratives, and inspire meaningful conversations.

Sia is currently working on a documentary project and pitching a television show concept to major networks, reflecting her commitment to innovative and impactful media. Now immersed in BCIT’s Journalism program, where she will graduate in 2025, Sia continues to carve her path as a bold and compassionate voice in Canadian media.

For Sia, Canada isn’t just home; it’s the platform where she creates, inspires, and builds bridges through the art of storytelling.
